Horseback Riding ($25.00 per hour)

All Riding is done adjacent to the Cherokee National Forest on private lands.

Explore the sleepy mountain community of Grassy Fork on winding farm and mountain trails across sites overlooking Snowbird and Rag Mountains and the Great Smoky Mountain National Park (one hour.)

Big Creek Stables

Ride over the farm into the edge of the Cherokee National Forest.(two hours). Guided Trail Rides

Warm up riding through Grassy Fork and the start up Snowbird Road and the edge of the Cherokee National Forest just off of the Appalachian Trail and descend through some of the most beautiful mountain scenery in the area (three hours).

Horseback Riding

Longer rides are available upon request and availability (up to seven hours).

All rides are $25.00/hour (two person minimum) and are guided.

We have a horse for every rider, from the beginner to the expert.
Riding Adventure

Reservations are recommended, however not always necessary.
Deposits are not necessary with a reservation
Riding fees subject to a 9.75% tax.
Payment by travelers checks or cash
Priority is given to lodging guests of Big Creek Oudoors whether camping or renting a cabin
A signed release form is required to ride.
Riders under 18 must have form signed by parent or guardian.
You must be at least 16 years of age to ride (some exceptions permitted).
Proper footwear is required.
Maximum weight horses can carry is limited to 300 pounds.
All rides begin and end on Big Creek Outdoors property.
Saddle bags provided for those who choose to bring a beverage and/or snack.
Since this is a wilderness experience there are some tips to make your trip more enjoyable:

Hat or visor
And remember the only one in the wilderness that enjoys your perfume, cologne or hair spray are the gnats.
